i have a 1998 ford expedition 4x4 eddie bauer. it has the air ride suspension. i was wondering if anyone knew where to get a lift kit for it, i want to put on 31 or 33in mudd terrains.

I just took all the 4x4 stuff off my '97. Reduced weight made it ride about 3" higher. I'm probably going to lower it back by adjusting the torque tubes. But lifting it looks really easy. Adjust torque tubes in front and add a block under the springs in back. Depending on how much you need, you may not even need new shocks. Pitman arm doesn't look to be in any kind of bind. And there is a LOT of room in the wells for bigger tires. Poor mans route but I think it would work well. It is a little squirly that high so stiffer shocks would be nicer.

 

The OP has the LLS system (Air Ride).
Every Ad on that FabTech site states 'not for Air Ride vehicles, Except for factory rear air suspension, or front air suspension'.
This may be a problem for all lift kits.
You may have to remove the LLS if you want a lift kit.

 

Thanks for the info fellas. It looks like I need to take off the air ride. What I want the end result to be is lifted 4x4 on 33in mudds, I want to actually take her off road not have a 4x4 street princess.
