Another obnoxious elect question lol
I recently painted my grill and changed wire looms for headlight and turn signals with much better non cracked wires .I had to ground the grill seperate with a small wire attached to the grill to get the turn indicator on the right to work but I figured it was cause the grille was painted and not making as good of ground .So all the headlights and turns sig work fine now but now the dash lights are not working .I did move the volt regulator too from rad support to inner fender not sure if that would matter .I cannot figure out why the dash worked fine before and now they will not light up or an other interior guage lights .The strange thing is the high beam blue ind light works in gauges and interior light works still off the headlight switch .
This may not be the correct answer, but I can tell you from experience you had better have the voltage regulator grounded very good or you will have all kinds of electrical problems.
it sounds like a grounding problem in the dash look behind the dash and chk all grounds make sure there clean then go under the hood do the same and i agree with the other guy make sure the regulator has a clean ground
