Means that you are respected by your peers on FTE.....and in some cases (like me) they will give you negative reps...and that means you @#%^&* upset a member

Sort of like S&H Green Stamps. You can trade them in for fabulous prizes and trips to exotic destinations. But apparently it takes a lot, because I haven't earned anything yet.

It's an eco thing. Notice how they are lighter green toward the end of the line of little green boxes? That means we've been here a long time and are now eco-friendly.

Just kidding. Like Tim said, you get rep points from folks for funny, helpful, worthwhile posts. As you accumulate more, you earn more little green boxes over on the far right side under your post count.

Since this topic has been brought up again (for the nth time), I have a question.

When one accumulates 1650 (or so) positive rep points, one gets the 11th greenie.

But, that's the last of them...regardless of how many more positive rep points one accumulates. Why?

because the people that set up the rep box system could not figure out how to count past 11.
5 fingers on one hand, and 6 on the other equal 11.

they were not smart enough to take off their shoes and use their toes to count like the rest of us.

The rep bucket isn't big enough to hold anymore and there's no room for a bigger bucket.

The additional rep points allow you to bask in the glory of yourowndamnself....alone.

I must be special. I'm still well short of 1650 rep points, and I have 11 jewels. I think I got the 11th at either 1500 or 1550, but I don't remember.

I think there are still a few more descriptions for me to be promoted to (mouse over someone's emeralds to read their description).

Since you have 11 greenies, how much basking are you doing in yourowndamnself....alone?

jroehl: I said 1650 (or so), cuz it's been sooo long since I acquired the last greenie, I forgot the total required.
