he was being his normal polite courteous self. and when he was told to back off, he told certain people to stick it where the sun don't shine, and got a permanent vacation.

 

That boil had been festering quite some time between he and Ken. Plus Ken had the NW chapter issues going on.

And I have to say, with Ken, you didn't have to work real hard to have issues.

But with help from many, many people....he built a hell of a good site. Pretty damned good legacy here, if you ask me.

HUMMMMMMM, my grandpa used to have a name for those that had way too much to say, but you won't get me to repeat it.

 

Then he would likely think you said to much......

 

Since his name came up, what's the story with Ken? I haven't seen him around these parts in years (and I also let my Club membership lapse a couple years ago when I wasn't driving a Ford for a while--need to re-up one of these days).

Ken sold the whole thing to Internet Brands. They own the site now.

 

I know the whole scenario, because when FTE gave M a "two week vacation" after he was warned dozens of times to change "or else," Ken contacted me, asked me to get involved.

Ken said "He's a friend of yours...(in fact, I hardly knew M)...could you call and speak with him?"

So I did. I called M, told him that Ken said he could not longer act like the Gestapo...ordering members around, because he no longer had any authorization to do so.

After speaking with M, I contacted Ken...said that M promised that he would change, but I also told Ken that it would not last, because M has a HUGE ego.

M told me during our conversation that Ken had no people skills, that Tim was his antithesis, said he was the one that built up FTE, so he should be allowed to do whatever he pleases.

And I was right. Within a week of returning from his "vacation," M was banned for life, because he could not keep his opinions to himself.

It occurred in a thread someone else started...inre to FTE T-shirts.

 

What was his forte? What made him so important?

 

He was usually found in the '73-'79 F-series subforum or older generations. His sense of self-worth came about because he bought one of those trucks brand-new and has a few emissions charts lying around. Textbook case of the emperor's new clothes.

Sadly, he's still lurking on the site under a different account...or four.

 

Yeah, I knew that. He hung around for a while after that, then poof! I was just wondering if anyone maintained contact, what he's up to, or if he hangs out in a section here that I don't, etc.
