e250 speedometer down
hi i got a 99 e250 5.4 automatic,this morning the speedo didnt move at all.the vss was change 3 week ago. hard shift from 1 to 2,any idea.
sorry for my bad english im from montreal. im a fte fan check new post every morning, also i have a 02 mustang gt and check engine come on and i read po340 that its a code for cam sensor,i change it ,fix nothing,sometime it hard to start on first time and make backfire,second time start well any idea on that too.

Check your battery voltage, your talking a few different things here so start with the basics, the seasons are changing and it is colder in the mornings so check your battery.
As for the bad English, I dont expect that from someone from Montreal. Valcourt, where I spent a lot of time I expect bad English.

i was in mirabel 60 km north of montreal exactly. this afternoon my speedometer start to work but when i start from 0 it going up only when i go like 20 km hrs after look ok 
and my battery was brand new, full charge.thanks for the reply.

sorry for my bad english im from montreal.
Best thing about some vehicle issues is they're easily understood as long as the description are close.

i change the sensor on tranny all fix now,but for my stang have no idea i see somewhere a bad diode in alt must be the problem ,i check it ,it charge well
14.3 v any idea i dont wanna change my alt cause its good from what i see,

It's entirely possible something internal to your speedo and/or instrumment cluster has failed causing your hard shifting and loss of speedo indication.
I offer this only because I once changed a 1997 E250 gas motor cluster with one intended for a '98 E350 diesel motor and could not believe the driveabilty issues it created. No speedo, no MPG/KPH, would not shift at all------shocked me needless to say!
Since your cluster is original to the vehicle your symptoms sound vaguely familiar to my own experiences. Perhaps check the body wiring harness connectors into the cluster first, making sure they are firmly seated.
You don't mention of any other funcion of the cluster has been affected? Any of the temperature, pressure or voltage gauges seeming to not work or indicate within their normal ranges?

ty jwa,only my speedo was down ,its ok now since i change the sensor on tranny,but this morning when i start it the engine service soon was on
