Batteries can test good but not have enough juice to start a PSD good. The GP's and starter draw alot of amps. Not saying your wrong about the batteries just want to make sure we cover the basic thoroughly!
Does the ODO work on the speedo? how do the truck shift? normal or hard?
The batterys SEEM fine I could be wrong.
It starts VERy well when plugged in so thats why Im thinking I still have a glow plug problem?
The truck is a standard.
I dont know if the ODO works as the truck is in the shop and the speedometer quit working last time I drove it.
I noticed it a few yards from home and didnt think anymore about it as Ive been working on other things.
2 new batterys installed.
Turns over great but still no easy start.
White smoke coming from tail pipe went turning over.
I only cycled it twice as I dont want to run down my batterys.
I know it would start if i plugged it in but where I live and work plugging in is not always a option.
How old are the GPR and GP's? have you tested for voltage drop over the relay? Also I would double check the UVC and GP's to make sure you don't have a burned out GP, burned or poor connection under the valve covers. Sorry to start at the beginning again but you don't really want to get to the next step yet....Compression test and injectors.
Trying to start it ONCE would burn out the GP's?
Its NEVER been started since new GP's were installed.
no it wouldn't... did the truck start?? when i did my injectors (and GPs) the truck had to be cranked for a good 5-10 minutes... of course i took short minute long breaks after like 45 seconds of cranking so i wouldn't burn out the starter....
