Edelbrock Rebuild
Hey guys... I got a 302, and the head gasket blew...so i figured while the engine was open....why not stuff it with a can or two of bad ***?
here's what's going in.

now...my problem is what carb to get....
i wanted an Edelbrock 1406 (Edelbrock 1406 - Edelbrock Performer Carburetors - Overview - SummitRacing.com) but it says it's not recommended for that specific intake manifold.
they want me to get the 1806 model (Edelbrock 1806 - Edelbrock Thunder Series AVS Carburetors - Overview - SummitRacing.com )
Now, i already have the intake manny, but i'm not opposed to topping it with a holley, plus im looking for vacuum secondaries and electric choke. any recommendations or experiences with this setup? any holleys to recommend? trying to keep it as close to 600cfm as possible.

If you're not opposed to dropping a little money Quickfuel makes some very nice carbs. They're Holley derivative; smooth and run like a raped ape.
On a daily driver I like Edelbrock carbs. The AVS lets you adjust the air flaps on the secondaries. Just one more thing to go wrong. A 1406 would be fine. Or a Holley.

yeah, it's a daily "show off to your buds" driver. or a stoplight racer. i mean just a teenager's souped up little jalopy. obviously my monetary priorities are a bit more than speakers, graphics and rims. those are fine and all, but i can't see them when your still at the intersection 500 feet behind me.
