You have a 6 speed correct? I know the 6 speeds were higher, my Valve cover on my 2000 is 235HP, I know the E99's had smaller AB code injectors, and smaller turbo.
You also need to pay attention to the torque rating, not just HP. Diesels have relatively low HP numbers compared to a gas engine, but they have way more torque.
I am only curious. I have heard that these early 99 PSD had lower hp rating then some of the latter ones and wondered what I could do to up the rating.
I will give Clay a call and find out what he thinks.
I had a '99 F-350 Supercab dually that I ordered in November '97 and took delivery in February '98. It had an auto trans, the engine was rated at 235hp and 500 lb/ft torque. The early trucks had a different turbo, ran good and had a very loud turbo whine when you had a load on it.
I stand corrected, I did not remember correctly, I wonder what it is that makes the power rating more? PCM, Frank's sticker shows having a Cat, my 2000 is non catalyst. Hmm, guess I need to put a smaller turbo, smaller injectors, and gain about 15HP's.
