Speedo Not working
Speedo Not working
>1986 F250 4x4 6.9<
1: speedo gauge on cluster working
2: Cable is fine
3: Cable is push all way into gear.
4: gear looks good (gear on end of cable)
(when spun by hand it works. when put back into its place it doesnt)
Now the location of cable insertion is hard to see in, so cant see if something looks missing...
What Else am I missing?? is this something common for this trucks??
Thanks

So, you're saying you can remove the cable from the transfer case and spin it manually and the speedometer works, correct?
In which case I'd be looking in that hole, a flashlight and a mirror on a stick would help you.
People here have talked about those drive gears sporadically but it's not real common.
You can probably get a replacement from your local Ford dealer but you should bring the old one in to compare.
How to remove it? No idea, I'd begin by taking the cover off the transfer case and looking inside.
This is assuming you haven't discovered something by looking in that hole, first; is it possible the cable isn't inserted all the way, or correctly?

Id guess that if it works when remove it should work when put back into tranfer case.. Unless ur talking about it being in there correctly... dont know.. you slide it in.. bolt it down and that it.. (but some things can be picky)
