Doubt you'll pass. Try unplugging the EGR valve, bet you'll get a CEL.

If you do an egr delete, it will throw codes. this can be cured by getting an sct x3 tuner and getting a custom tune. since you are in cali, you wouldnt pass the test. the oem egr cooler was okay. only thing is, you will need to pull the valve and clean it with carb cleaner about every 20000mi. also, if you stay with the oem cooler, do a coolant flush and switch to some elc and get a coolant filter. best thing for a 6.0l. problem is, high egts are too much for gold coolant and could rupture your cooler. coolant will then go into the cooler and stretch your head bolts and your head gaskets will go. you can get an upgraded egr cooler made by bpd. many people in your area run them and there aren't any problems. you won't get a code then.

BulletProofDiesel - Darn-Near Bullet Proof Diesel Products for your 6.0

You will still need to monitor engine coolant and oil temperatures.

Take a look in the Tech Folder for recommended temps.

If you are near the San Fernando Valley go by and talk to John at Diesel Performance shops in Van Nuys. He gave me some great insight into the whole EGR Valve/ EGR cooler/ Head Gaskets/ Oil Cooler Head Bolts etc. dynamic.

If you really work the truck, you shouldn't have to manually clean the EGR valve. 200K+ miles and I have yet to clean my EGR valve once and I'm flowing 40% more fuel and still on my original EGR Cooler and Oil Cooler.

Deleting the EGR System isn't the fail safe that a lot of people think that it is. I personally know of 3 people that did the EGR delete and still had to go rooting around there.
