A few months ago I bought a new light switch from Rock Auto and just got around to installing it this morning. The catalog didn't say there were different ones and the one I have is wrong. The one in the truck has an extended metal housing. I changed the housing by cutting the rivets off with a dremel and pop riveting the old housing on the switch. It was a PIA but works fine.
I assume you are talking about the headlight switch?? The part number I have for this switch is replacement number D3ZB-11654-AA......I took this off of the headlight switch that I got from a 1970 donor truck. How it was a D3 I dont know unless it was switched out at sometime, but i know it works.
In Dennis Carpenters book, it says D3ZZ-11654-A, page 78.

The ID engineering number * marked on the switch is: D3ZB-11654-AA

In Dennis Carpenters 1967/79 truck repro parts catalog (page 78), it says the part number is D3ZZ-11654-A - $50.00
1965/72 F100/350: The original headlamp switch was C5TZ-11654-A
In 1973, FoMoCo replaced it (and etc) w/a new servicepartreplacement headlamp switch kit.
the 4th character in the p/n tells you if its a service part or if its an engineering, etc type number, the basic group its for...Z as in C5TZ denotes a service replacement part, aka dealer parts..the B you posted thats on your switch denotes, if Im not mistaken, the Body group...
As to the extra spacer...I hate screwing with those suckers...I did a switch in mine and keeping everything lined up just so on the backside as well as the dash bezel and nut on the other side while trying to screw it all together is a real pain...not a five minute job...unless you get lucky.
