anybody know where i can find a short bed for a bumpside? my bed is pretty beat up. looking for somewhere is so cal.

Look for pickup box utility trailers on Craigslist and the little classified newspapers. In many cases, the trailers might have a bed in good condition, as the truck was scrapped because of a wreck or bad engine or trans. You buy the trailer, swap beds, and then sell the trailer and recoup some money.
