All . . . . . with info from this forum I bought and installed the Edge Insite CTS. It is really grreat. I am able to monitor a lot of info such as oil temps, water temps, transmission temp, soot level, engine gas temps, etc. Very interesting to monitor info while I am on trips. I will create a list of normal parameters to watch.
I installed mine last night! It is going to be a big help with regen status so I can plan my trips a little better and not get stuck in the Cleaning Filter mode less than 1 mile from my destination every time.
I know it is early on for them and Edge is working on more PIDs to monitor, but the list is lacking. If anybody has anything that you know the OBDII reads but the CTS doesn't, please post it up. I am talking with somebody who can write the PIDs for us. I am compiling a list and hope to see how well this works out within the next week.
Hi. I just picked up the new Edge Insight CTS for my 2005 Excursion 6.0L, as a replacement for the first generation Edge Insight Multi-Gauge Display(#83400). The 83400 is a nice unit, and has worked great. But, how can you beat the larger and color screen of the CTS. The CTS is easy to setup in the truck, and looks great. The only problem I have is unlike the 83400 that had multiple screens(10 separate screens) that could be selected with a push of a button to display various PID's. The CTS only has one screen with a maximum of 8 PID's. If you want to see different items you have to select them. It was much easier just scrolling through the screens I had per-configured. I have to call Edge and see if this is something they can modify. 10 may be too much to ask for, I would be happy with at least 4 or 5.

I have my 12 f350 on order. I am wondering how and where you guys have mounted the insight monitor. Pics would be great.
Mounted mine with the suction cup in the lower center of my windsheld (above the dash tray area) to the right of my GPS.
Look at the far left side of your dash and you'll see the removable side panel.
You can run the cable in there.
I used the ATS mount. It is for the earlier version, but with some minor modifications, it is tucked in the upper left corner of the windshield. The aluminum bracket mounts under the base of the visor. Look at ATS , they also carry it at XPD.
I put my CTS on the dash, far left, in the corner of the windshield and dash. I am using the suction cup on the window. The suction cup works good. However, the suction cup cuts into my vision a little. What I plan on doing is to put (glue?) a flat or circulat 4 inch plate on the dash, in the corner. Then use the suction cup on the flat plate.
The CTS seems to be made well and is a good design.
I am with you on the impaired vision from mounting it in the corner above the dash! This weekend I am going to toy around with mounting it high in the upper corner of the windshield. Looking up at the gauges will actually keep your eyes on the road a little better, should eliminate the blind spot caused by mounting it low and with the tint strip I have at the top of the windshield it should make it a little less conspicuous to would be thieves.
