What is your plans for your 41? My grandpa is currently restoring his 41 that he owned since he was 13 years old!!

79CamoFord, that's great about your grandads '41. I hope he gets his going sooner than I seem to be doing with mine. It's been nearly 4 years since I drug my project into the shop. I've been chipping away ever since and I'm getting close(r), but I guess any progress is good. (My '50 F1, another frame-off rebuild project [my first] took about 11 years, so I guess I shouldn't complain - LOL!).
About my plans, my '41 is going to be another mild custom project... a dark sider project as they say around here. Like some other early Ford pickup projects, mine came with only so many original parts -- and they're a mish-mash of interchange. The frame is a '37; the cab a '42-47'; the doors are '40 and the hood is a '41 (I'm changing back to '40 trim). The fenders, running boards and bed are all repops for a 40-41. The rear suspension is a 9" Ford on TCI leaf springs while the front is Mustang II. The only part of the project that I wasn't crazy about as I received it was the engine ... a 350 chevy. But I was in too deep to change and it has been easy to build with. Anyway, I did "All Ford In A Ford" with my '50 F1 project and while I would have preferred a Ford powerplant, a little change here works just fine. I just finished the main body work on the hood -- some real metal work challenges there. I'm currently in the process of fitting doors to cab and fitting all front-end components. Here's a few pics of updated progress since I posted last.

Oh and 79CamoFord, I hope you get to help your Grandad a lot with his project! -Ken

they live 100 miles south from me so any chance I get i do. He is putting a lil 289 in it and it has the mustang II front under neath. His intentions are that he wants everyone in our family to be able to drive it. The last time I was there we were putting all the finishing touch on the wood he is laying down in the bed
