Lower ball joint nut seized. Need help.

Lower ball joint nut seized. Need help.

I was able to get the top nut by grinding it off but the bottom is totally seized. I used pb blaster to no avail and a breaker bar. Impact wont fit in there or the grinder. Any suggestions?

X2 on the acetylene.then a BIG hammer!
i wouldn't touch a ball joint without both of those tools (bare minimum.)

For starters, I'd get some rust-eating penetrant and a wire brush on that bad boy. Clean it all up so your sockets have half a chance of grabbing.

I just tackled this on my Bronco this weekend. A BFH is required as is the already mentioned torch. But Jroehl nailed it. You need to try and clean those threads up of you wanna get that nut off.

I would agree with everyone else about the cleaning and brushing, but i would use a 6 point socket, breaker bar, and a 4' piece of 1.5" tubing to get it loose. Not sure what the hammers for until the nuts off. Anyways good luck.
