Fresh build thread :D
Ok... install started today... got the engine hooked up to the tranny (which was left in the truck) but can't figure out the trick to the mounts.... 79 f150... 4wd... any suggestions?
They should fit just fine once they're in, but dunno how to get them there... studs on the bottom of the pads are too wide to just drop into the holes...

Maybe just some rusty buildup that needs to be removed?
Maybe the whole engine/ tranny combo is slightly twisted and fouled in such away that won't allow the movement your looking for?

actually, you might want to check and see if they are stamped R or L for which side they go on.
after struggling with parts stores for mounts for my 88, I finally just drilled through them and used two bolts to hold them together.
Got it in over the last couple of days... some "gentle persuasion" helped with the mounts... it started up first try, and everything is doing exactly what it should... life is good
Now to reassemble the clutch linkage, and take it for a spin
