Where do you measure boost?

When I installed my boost gauge years ago, I tapped the spider between the turbo outlet and first boot on the hot side, and it's worked fine there. Since getting a DP-Tuner, and spending a lot of time on the top side of the motor, it occurred to me that I should have used the AIH delete plug tap, instead, as that's much closer to what the PCM sees from the MAF sensor. Wouldn't there be some pressure loss from the hot side of the spider to the cold? My physics knowledge is a little, ahem, rusty on this...

I'm asking because I can hit 25psi, or a little more for short bursts, on my gauge, but never see an overboost code, and it seems like I should.

If you are running a chip, they probably tuned out the overboost code...

DP tuner does change the overboost. Mine will still show a cel while over 23 lbs but will not defuel the motor, the cel goes out a minute later. Not sure if it will leave a code or not.
