I have a 1993 7.3 turbo diesel 4x4.. I have a trans temp gauge and I have no idea where to put the ssensor on my manual tranny??? Any anwsers would help thanks
There is no place to put the sensor on a manual tranny. For the most part, its not needed as the fluid won't heat up like it would on an automatic.
That being said, if you do a lot of towing, or in a very warm climate, you might be interested in the temp. You may be able to fine a sensor that will replace the drain plug.
You can always drill/tap the PTO cover on the passenger side of the tranny.
Wow, yah now I feel dumb.. Thats a real good solution for our tranny's! Plus you could choose whichever side you wanted.
The cover is pretty thin, so tapping it might not hold the best. But they are easy to pop off, so would be a piece of cake to weld a tapped bung on.
