Good to hear you got it running. I suppose most of us have learned how to repair our vehicals ourselves through trial and error method. I have been doing it since my teens now 60. Experience is the best teacher.
I had a 50/50 chance of ordering the correct Pertronix Ignitor, based off some websites I took an educated guess and ordered the wrong one!! The wrong one was a perfect fit, but the air gap was too big and it didn’t run.
I called Pertronix and they quickly identified my distributor by the center rotating part, Holley is a solid rod in the shape of a D, while Motorcraft is more hollow and shaped like a C.
The correct one arrived and installed in under 10 minutes. The change was instant and amazing. My neighbor knew right away I fixed something, due to the tires burning rubber as I left my home Saturday morning. Burning rubber was truly accidental; I just gave it gas like I normally had to do, and the truck peeled out of my driveway. So I have a feeling my MPG will significantly improve.
Glad you got it running like a Beast''...good to know the differents between the 2 dist's.
all thow i'll probably forget in a week,..lol, anyway, gotta love those Pertronix's!
