I have a 1995 F150 302 FI with 167,000 miles. Mechanically it's in great shape. If I let it sit for a week it starts and runs fine. If I drive it every day in 2-3 days it gets to the point where it won't start after it's set for a while, say all day while I'm at work or overnight. It turns over fine so that's not the problem. After it starts and runs for maybe 2 minutes it just dies going down the road. It's like you just turn off the ignition. As long as it's moving it will start running again in 1-2 seconds. That may happen 2,3,4 times. It only does it when it's cold. After it warms up everything is fine. And it will start right back up with no problem as long as it doesn't sit too long. Don't think it's a problem in the fuel system. It seems more like it's electrical. But that's just gut feel and I'm just an old shade tree mechanic. I can take stuff off, put stuff on, do my own tune-ups and oil changes but that's about it. I had a friend check the stored codes and there was one it there that said something about "brake stop switch" or something like that. And another one that seemed totally unrelated. Anybody got any ideas? Thanx for your help!
Man, If it's any comfort I've been fighting the same problem on my 95. Same engine. Except mine wants to act up at stops signs or lights. Anytime after I've actually moved the truck. Then I gotta' slip the clutch to get going before it does again. I too think my trouble is electrical. I have relaced my fuel filter, dist. cap, plugs and vacuum lines. Even jumped out the fuel cutoff switch just to be sure. Still, no light at the end of the tunnel. I know this offers not much help, but maybe you can use some of what I've done to help yourself.
