I need some help. I have an 88 full size bronco. The motor is a 351 and leaks oil real bad. I have another 351 out of an 1994 F150 and the wiring harnesses don't match up. I need to know where I can come up with a way to mesh the harness to the fire wall harness to make them work together.
Use the 94 harness on the 94 engine... period. You will save yourself a ton of headaches. Assuming the 94 has an automatic, it will be an E4OD. To use the ECM (computer) from the 94 with any other transmission, you just need to put a 400 ohm resistor between the GREEN/RED wire and the LT. BLUE/YELLOW wire in the connector for the MLPS (Manual Lever Position Sensor) that runs to the transmission. Put the resistor in at the connector/pigtail for the MLPS or the resistance will be off.
The problem I am running into is that the harness connector for the 94 is rectangle and the spot where the harness is supposed to connect on the firewall is round, hence the wiring harness for the 88 was round also. Any thoughts on how to connect the two?
