77 302 timing

Searched and couldn't find the timing specs for my 77, F150, 302, 2 barrel auto. Help appreciated. Thanks.

Pretty sure stock setting would be 8^ btdc with the vacuum advance disconnected and plugged.

I've seen everything from 6 to 12. Have it at 6 now and will drive it a bit more then go up a couple. 12 seems to be way too much. A little pinging on acceleration.

Try 9.

6 + 12 = 18 / 2 = 9.

I turned my 73 F100 up to 12 and it doesn't ping any and starts great. Its a completely stock engine.
