Ok i have read the threads and dug in everything on the internet i can find. but i just cant figure out sct and mike from 5 star or superchips. i want more power.and a stronger truck. I have the 5.4, 411 gears, FIAI, and nitto 35's. as far as performance or effects of it goes. So i wanna hear yalls opinion in this case.
Superchips is a "canned" tune. Meant for a stock truck (i.e. no CAI, etc) and is only a mild improvement, if any at all.
Mike Butler @ 5 Star is a trained professional that will build a custom tune for your truck using the SCT X3 or Livewire programmer. Much better, and likely safer, than canned tunes. If you are within 100 miles of Mike, he also has a dyno and will tune your truck on the dyno for ultimate performance. I enjoy the work he did on my '06. Give him a call for sure.
Ok, I called Mike. I ordered to tunes and the SCT. I think it should be here by Friday. im pumped, I cant wait to have it on. This plus the intake, 411 gears, and 50 series flowmasters will hopefully roll the big 20s with the 35's cause thats a heavy set up.
