Sand Blasting Help

Hi guys Im looking at buying a CHEEP sand blaster for when I take the bed off of my 2000 f250. I want to be able to sand blast all of the cross members and the wheel wells. I just need to know what is a good CHEEP sand blaster. Also I was looking at using glass beads.

Here is some I was looking at

i always use the sand, what type of compressor do you have? if you're blasting the frame it will take a loooot of time to blast that thing, that blaster looks weak, but hey, it's cheap so give it a shot, just make sure your compressor is more than 5 gallons because will have to stop every 5 mins to let the pressure build

Compressor size is the key. Takes a lot of air to blast. Black Diamond($8 for 40lbs.) is a heck of a lot cheaper than beads. Cheapest initial price that will do the job would be something like this: Campbell Hausfeld® Sandblasting Kit - 3434614 | Tractor Supply Company You would be better off with an angle grinder and wire wheels.

I used Eastwood's blaster, and Star Blast media. Worked like a charm. Make sure you have some sort of air dryer/ water trap in the line, at least 7-10 feet away from the compressor. Water in the media will make it clump, and drive you nuts.

You will need WAY more than a 5 gallon tank, my 30 gallon tank ( 6hp) compressor struggles to keep up with a tiny blast cabinet. It's already been mentioned, but the compressor is what will make or break how well any blast system will work.

Yep, you'll need a compressor that will somewhat keep up, or it will take you forever.

Been mentioned, size is everything; my 6hp compressor runs the entire time while blasting, a pain in the backside waiting for pressure to build, the smaller the compressor the longer the wait. Suggest going with the largest hopper willing to spend. Word of advice, blasting media will seek out every oriface known to the human body so best purchase protective gear. Strongly suggest not using sand as a medium, very hazardous. Finally, HP sells a cheap screen to filter used sand. Neighbor recently purchased the 2nd item on your list for blasting various small engine and frame components, if decide to go that route I can check and get his opinion.
