D1AE-A1C heads

I am in the planning stages of rebuilding a 400 CID for my 79 F250 4WD that 35" rubber,354 gears,C6 tranny,NP205 transfer case and tru-trac lockers in both front and back. I have come across D1AE-A1C heads and was wondering if they would be usefull in my application since I am looking for good low to mid range tork in my rebuild. Anyone tell me if I am doing any justice here or whether or not I should look for other heads other than my stock ones and where I may look?

From everything that I have read, most heads that are pre-'73 were better heads. I'm not sure if this is true when it comes to 400's though...

I heard the same thing but Im not sure if they are 4 valve since they are not stamped in the corner and I heard that 4 valve are not as good for pulling or low end tork as 2v in truck use?
