These things are expensive but not as much as a concussion or brain matter shower I suppose:

Was that really that big of a problem before? Not really... I get the idea, but its fairly unnecessary. I think it will phase out in a year or two in lieu of a better design.

Maybe they figure the incremental cost is pretty low, thus the relatively low benefit is still cost effective.

Banging heads....not good.
