torque converter issues?

torque converter issues?
I have a 99 powerstroke, straight piped, chipped, fuel pressure spring, and intake. I am still running the stock transmission and torque converter. I have recently been having problems after my pickup warms up. Pulling hills my pyrometer peaks and I am losing power. I still build about 20 pounds of boost but cant get the power I need. I have a slight hesitation at stop signs when taking off. I'm wondering if the torque converter could cause pyro issues if it is weak or going out? Please help me out here.

do u have a tranny gauge? is it getting hot? Do the RPMs climb and u dont gain speed? I would guess if egts are going up then the rpm is up to.. is it slip or just lack of power?
