The earlier '03's have 7.3's. Ford didn't start putting 6.0's in the trucks until they ran out of stock of 7.3's and the 6's were ready or something to that effect.
My truck is an '03 7.3. Bought it in Jan with 88 miles on it. If you hunt enough lots you should hit on one, though you might have to settle for options that don't quite meat your personal specs.

There are still a few around. But I own a base modle.hit it right. You will probably have to settle for what ever options are on the vehicle. You might want to consider a Used vehicle. I know that our local dealer has several of them. A lot of people will jump right out on the newer stuff. We had one here that had about 1000 miles on it but the guy liked the new type mirrors so he bought a new one. That is kind of hard to find but there are some out there.
It would be nice if they would offer both engins but I guess thats out of the question. Production thing I guess.
How well do the 6.0s run? should I go with a 6.0 or a 7.3 if I get the choice......disregarding price. I know the 6.0 shows higher numbers, but will it last, how often they brake, the little quirks whatnot thanks.
Do a search for 6.0, several posts of the problems, I've also seen them first hand. They are plagued with problems at this point. Go used or wait until they get the bugs worked out of the 6.0.
I agree. Wait about another year for the problems to be worked out, or better yet, get the proven 7.3L. I personally have test drove the new 6.0L, and it was like anything I have ever driven. Unbelievable in power, but, as previously mentioned, the new engines still has many "bugs" to be worked out. To me, its not worth it to get the new engine in the first or second year of production. I'd just wait until the new superduty designs are out in another few years
