I need some advice from someone who has already modified their Powerstroke. I would like to find out which is the best performance exhaust and chip for my 2001 F-250 four wheel drive with the diesel. Thanks. Sportsnutim
Welcome to the site!!
Asking this group which chip is best, is like asking a bunch of mothers who has the cutest baby. Personally, I like my Diablo Delta chip. It has a toggle switch that allows me to switch from the stock position to two different optional programs. One of my programs is the 54hp "tow" setting, the other is the 100hp "extreme" setting. Considering how much better the truck runs with the chip, I'd consider it money well spent. Another nice thing about the chip is that you can choose from a number of different box codes/ power levels in getting your chip set up the way you like it, for your intended use of the truck. This chip is available for sale from this website, and Ken, the webmaster/programmer, is very knowledgeable.
As far as exhaust is concerned, I put my system together myself, using a Hypermax downpipe, a 3.5"-4" reducer, a section of 4" aluminized pipe, and a 4" mandrel bent tailpipe available through Advance Auto Parts. The total cost is quite low, and it's all the exhaust system I'll ever need, regardless of how much power I produce.
Good luck with whatever you decide.
Thanks for the invite to the site. Any advice is helpful, if helps to produce the best results and the price is right we all can't beat that! Fordsonly/Sportsnutim
