I had a little bit of a buck today (surge, whatever you want to call it). I just fired up the truck on my way home from work and it jerked a bit in 2-3. I couldn't tell really if it was in the process of shifting and got "confused" or what. I wasn't on the throttle hard at all, just a nice easy acceleration up to a traffic light. I am using the Motorcraft cetane fuel additive, though I see no mileage gains yet (and I've run a half tank).
I had (key word had) the same issue. A forced downshift from 6 to five covered it.
Two transmission flash and a Knock sensor later, it is gone.
ADCO, was it a knock sensor or NOX sensor? Do you know which sensor?
We are discussing this same problem on TheDieselStop.com forum, however, I'm hesitant to post the actual link because one of my previous posts was deleted. I was able to record this with a vehicle data recorder and after reviewing it, Ford's response to my dealer was "do not attempt repairs at this time, engineering is investigating."
Well 2 ford engineers came out again and drove the truck!
Nothing really happened they did take back data
They also said the is an issue with the fuel mileage at one point during there 2 hour visit the mileage fell to 14.6
They think the dealer did not update the trans software like they were supposed to.
They left me with another data recorder
And said they will be intouch
