I just noticed the center stake pockets shaved off in the bed. Sure cleans up the look of it over the wheel wells. Was that the reason you removed them?
It really does clean it up. I saw a 66' LB at one of the shows with all 6 pockets removed and welded up. The truck looked pretty much stock except for the pockets and the rear tail gate latch removed and replaced with an electric one. The latch pocket was also welded up. Looked very clean and smooth. Saw another one with the door handles shaved. Looked a little strange but only my opinion. Just not my taste removing the door handles.
O WELL, to each their own... Fritz
Yeah I should've clarified a little better what I meant. As I don't think I'd be fond of shaved door handles on the 65 and 66 F-100s, some of the older iron look pretty good with shaped handles, cleans up the lines a little. My old 39 fat boy Ford had shaved door handles. I had electric locks on it so you could open it with the press of a button, but if your battery ever went dead, every ones mother would know where the pull release is. Happened to me at a show once.
