So I've been busy at work and trying to finish up my truck.
I can't really afford the complete trim kit right now, at around $700, so I bought a $30 roll of vinyl silver tape and started messin around.
It looked like duct tape when I put it on plain, so I measured it up and cut it out first, then got out the fine-line tape and did a little airbrushing with some dark silver metallic on the tape before I put it on the truck.
I couldn't get too fancy, since when I tried to put the tape where the paint was it would lift the paint off.
Since the fenders, hood and doors were the last thing to go on, this had to wait till I was allmost completely done.
I still have an issue with the hood being up too high. The adjustment is bottomed out.
The wheels and hupcaps came from Wheel Vintiques, I had the wheels powder coated black and taped and airbrushed the letters on the caps.
The bedliner is Tintable Raptor from U-POL. I added 10% of my teal base to each quart, it came out really nice.
Let me know how you like the stripes.
Thanks for all the comments.

A++++++++++ For effort on this one! I really like what you have done with this truck! Overall I give it a 10. The detail on the engine bay like rest of truck is fantastic... Obvious in no big hurry and great detail. Its at the top of the heap overall of trucks posted here.
Now you have me curious what the undercarriage looks like. This is one of those trucks that the more pics you post the more of truck I want to see.
How about some engine build pics and details. I say drop the front a couple inches but not too much and it will help even more.
Beautiful! The tape is definately an improvement over the previous pics. I'm sure you'll want to get the trim eventually, but until then it looks much better. I just hope it doesn't cause any problems with that nice paint job down the like when you need to remove it for the real trim.
