just smash at it, its just frozen on there. the bolts press it in when there zipped on there and theres probably a small rust seal. get a piece of wood and go to town.
My 4x4 conversion parts list is getting smaller... slowly.
New axle u-joints are in, new balljoints are getting pressed in within the next couple days, then I can put the front axle back together completely.
Now I need to buy the Sky 3" RSK $300, cast iron 4R100 tailshaft $100, and new front spring u-bolts $50. I'm debating on whether I'll need a add-a-leaf for the springs from my '87 I'll be using, that would be another $100.
I'm just worried that the front end would sit too high with a add-a-leaf in there. The springs seem pretty soft and sat fairly low with the 6.9 on top of them, but it also had a dana 50 axle so it would look another inch lower compared to a 60. Maybe I can buy the add-a-leaf and just have it ready to go in when I install the axle and send it back if I don't need it....
That's the thing, with the 3" RSK it should make the front level (with stock springs) with the rear (with the 4" factory blocks)
So if I put a lift spring in the front with the RSK it'll sit too high. Plus the F250 springs were a lot stiffer than F350 springs because the TTB front end twisted too much with softer springs.
I think the springs I have are going to be ok, if anything it will sit an inch low in front which is ok by me, and it'll have a softer ride. I can always do an add-a-leaf later on I guess.
