Plastic Engine Cover Mount

I broke the plastic engine cover mount the other day.

Did it while trying to climb up on the front bumper to drain fuel filter.

Bumper was slippery with ice and I fell off, grabbed the engine cover on the way down and broke the mount.

I heard the later model trucks had a metal mount instead of plastic.

Is it a direct fit?

Will it fit on my E99 F350?

Mine broke as well... wondering the same as the OP. I have both a late and an early-model cover, I just need the bracket. Next paycheck I'm going to the you-pull-it to get some junk!

Who needs that anyways! Lol. It sure does look nice, but seems to be a pain. Almost all that I've seen have had one of the studs break when removing it. After that it just gets chunked!

In all seriousness...I would leave it off and just place it on there if you're ever doing a "Show and Shine." If you're stuck on the side of the road and needing to get to your filter, now you gotta mess with taking it off.

I agree... I don't mind it off. Makes the truck look less like a toy but it is nice for adding some bling if you highlight the raised lettering with a color.

After breaking 2 of the plastic brackets I just
made my own from a scrap sheet of copper.

It ain't pretty but you can't see it with the cover on.

Trashed mine, and my wifes about 7-8 years ago. I bet I have saved $1000 on fuel savings alone from the shaved weight... Same thing with the spare tire... LOL

Bahahahahaha...yeah, I completely forgot about that thread!

I have contemplated just getting some new nuts, but I like the look of the OEM nuts, and the wife really likes my old nuts too.

Nuts

Man, what a nice clean engine. Makes mine look like a pig. I had better get to work and do some cleaning.
