Getting hit by a minivan while riding a bike is very painful. Actually, it wasn't the getting hit part that was painful, it was the landing in the street that broke my lower right leg in 3 pieces. I never had any pain on the left side of my body (where the van hit me) but when I landed, my right knee didn't bend (from a previous accident in '98) so the bones did. So for now, I am in a wheelchair/walker trying to build up the strength in my right leg so I can walk without any help.
