Hi All! I am a new member to this forum - I have been watching it for a long time and it is nice to see so many true Ford enthusiasts! I, myself, will be a Ford man forever. I climbed the ladder of Ford truck models over the past many years and once I settled into my first F350 in 2003, I have never looked back. I am hopeful to get my new 2012 F350 Lariat with Ultimate package ordered this week - maybe get it before Christmas!
I`m redoing a hallway and decided to go ahead and pop out a bath as well. I get to go pick out cabinets and granite today. I have 9/16 by 6 1/4 dark birch planks for floor and this folks is how I spend my day off
Just thought I`d share
I spent the past few days rebuilding the rear axle for a Range Rover and then yesterday I took it down to San Jose and installed it. Or mostly...he told me his truck was a '94, turns out to be a '95 and it takes a different yoke on the pinion. I need a special puller to get his old yoke off and switch them, I have the puller here at home but didn't have it down there with me. I have the remains of his old rear axle here at home with me now so I'll pull the yoke off and drive al the way to San Jose again this coming weekend to swap them out and finish up the job. Fortunate there are several other things that need doing on the truck and I can come down armed with more parts to make that happen.
The best thing that came out of all this? He had an old accordion that someone gave him sitting in the living room and he doesn't know how to play it, so he passed it on to me. Funny thing, since I started playing 5 years ago I've bought one accordion, but I now have four! Seems like when people find out you play the damn things they come out of the woodwork to give you grampa's old box that's been sitting around collecting dust for the lat 40 years...!
Yeah, it's funny...people expect top dollar for some old POS guitar they have laying around thinking every one is worth a fortune, but they'll drown you in accordions to get rid of them...why do you suppose that is? The accordion is a such a well-loved instrument...right up there with bagpipes and hurdy-gurdys...:rolleyes
Bagpipes! I almost for got about them! They rank right up there with those didgeridoos don't they? Actually, I like the sound of bagpipes, but mainly for the song Amazing Grace.
