'62/63 starter exchange question

I was at the Pull-a-part this morning and came upon a '63 V8 automatic F100. Our '62 straight 6 manual needs a new starter. The starter in the '63 looks to be rebuilt, and has the same hole pattern....but the shaft is a little shorter. Will it work for our '62?
