'05, 6.0 PSD Ex... Just finished my remote start install. When the system powers on, the accy panel lights up, lights flash, fuel pump activates, then it cranks the engine, but no start. Can start with key with no problem, What am I missing? Would it have something to do with the Anti-Theft system (the truck doesn't have an alarm, just the Anti-Theft light flashing on the cluster)?
I just learned that I need a Immobilizer Bypass because my key is chipped. I stuck my key in the ignition and hit the remote start and whattaayya know, it started right up. Guess I'm going to research Immobilizer Bypass systems now.. Any info appreciated.
DEI has programmers that help you bypass with access to your factory system. DO NOT do an install that puts a key next to your ignition, you're defeating your factory system which is quite effective, especially if thieves bypass your alarm.
Ok fellas, I'm about to start throwing tools, (not really, but I feel like it)..... Installed a Presitgue Remote Start (took out of wife's Blazer)..... Got in installed, and will remote start with key in proximity. Learned that I needed a PATS bypass.. Purchased a XPresskt model-PKFM.. Wired in as install said... now I can't get the (*&(^( thing to start.. engine just turns over until battery is drain or I shut down the remote start.
The only two things I can come up with is the negative input to the PKFM bypass isn't getting the negative amperage it needs to communicate or it's not programming to the keys. (followed key program instructions)( step 3 says to immediately start the veh w/ remote start, however it has the delay for the glow plugs to fire, not sure if it's taking too much time until start to finalize programming)(and the damn install directions don't say how many neg amps it takes to effectively communicate)
Not sure what to do next, really getting bent about the situation..
