Well I went to go fire up my 6.0 today and it just sat there and cranked would not turn over for nothing. I tryed shooting it with ether still nothing. A buddy of mine things its the dummy plugs. I know I have the 05 and up motor because I have the ICP sensor on the valve cover. Any help guys.
So the engine cranks, but no fire? If so can you hear the injectors buzz? Are you getting a CEL? It maybe that the truck isn't building any icp. You could pressurize the icp system. Just remove the icp sensor and shoot air through the oil manifold. Also you'll need to find a way to apply 12v to the ipr. With 12v not on you should hear a slight leak coming from the ipr and once 12v is on there should be no leaks. Its possible that your STC fitting atthe high pressure pump is blown. Pretty common problem.
Have you tried unplugging the ICP sensor and starting it. I think by unplugging it puts it into a default mode, and should start if its bad. Also do you have a scangauge or know anyone that does that would let you borrow for troubleshooting? Scangauge will read ICP and needs to be over 500psi to fire injectors. I am still learning myself but until one of the more experienced guys chime in there is also a No-Start checklist in the tech folder.
i have tried that i pulled the air filter off sprayed some ether down the inake and fired up for about a second so im thinking its mostly the HPOP that went bad.
after talking to a few people around here they said my injector o rings are probably gone. While cranking nothing but raw fuel is coming out of the exhaust. I have been having problems with them for 10 months now and i think they prob said screw you
You need to do the simple things first. Many people can tell you many different things, but YOU need to trouble shoot it yourself or take it to a dealer to figure out the correct problem.
Go into the tech folder and look over the "no-start" section.
So far you said stand pipes and/or dummy plugs, injector o rings, and/or HPOP...Your already at about 1000$ in parts. Throwing parts at it can get real expensive quick.
Make sure your batteries are fully charge, check for codes, and FICM.
