Found a few items, needs oil pan, I knew it was bad when I bought it, rough starts when cold, replaced fuel filter and it helped some but still sounds like it runs on 7 cyls until warmed up. Change oil next. Going to look under valve covers and check things out. Cruise don't work, has not had the speed control recall done. So far that's about it, just hope it don't need injectors.
Oh, no smoke of any kind when it starts.
How many miles are on it? Does it leak oil at all? How was it after changing the oil? If changing the oil helped a lot might be the HPOP, could try a HPX

It has 252,240 miles on it, oil pan seeps, you can tell he used epoxy putty on it. Just changed the oil and returned after a short drive seems a little better. And I do believe it will run better after the tank mods and HPX, and cackle cure kit. We'll see how it starts in the morning.
When you get around to pulling the valve covers, just plan on starting it up with them off so you can visually check the oil discharge from each injector. And as Joe mentioned, be sure to ohm out your glow plugs before you pull the covers in case they need to be replaced.
Have you checked the EBPV sensor and tube?Do you have auto enginuity or anyone near you who does, that my give you alot of answers in a hurry.
Haven't removed it but it is functioning normally. Bought an oil pan from
Oreilly and found out the drain plug is not the same thread ..grrr.
