i have a a 2000 7.3l power stroke that im haveing problems with!
after the truck runs for about and hour it will start sputtering and shooting out white smoke, and it wont go past 2500 rpm's. the first thing i did was service the engine and fule system. but it still does it. it has 137k miles on it. and its a 5 speed standard. i also changed what i think was the fule pump on the driver side frame of the truck.
ON EDIT: WELCOME TO FTE! You've found a fantastic resource to keep your truck running great, and to do most of it yourself (thereby saving tons of money). Since you've not met the minimum number of posts for us to see where you're at, post your location. One of "The Brotherhood" may be close enough by you to come out and help you look at your truck. We're all about helping each other.
You said you did a fuel system service...did you clean out your fuel bowl (remove the fuel bowl heating element and clean the bottom) and replace the fuel filter?
It could be your IPR...may want to check that out too.
You also may need to do an in-tank mod. How low is your fuel gauge while this problem is occurring?
