650, OUCH! I thought the 300 I paid for 14 years sucked. I was supposed to pay 550, but thankfully she knew how much of a screw up she was and didn't try or it would have gotten ugly.
Dang that blows. anyway George, it seems our BS thread got deleted so i figured id update you on that truck here. It turns out it did have the SD injectors and turbo, as well as the SD 4r100. HOWEVER it was pretty beat up. There was no bumper, hood and rear passeneger door needed replaceing, and he had no proof of mileage, he was only TOLD by the PO that an engine swap was done 125 thousand miles ago. So i passed it up. Body works a PITA and to many unknowns.
the money that the women get sometimes is a big constrewed.
The money is supposed to go for only the child and the childs wellbeing.
Not for the supporting parents clothes, their food, their habits or anything else.
Its for the CHILD ONLY.
But somehow when you go to court, this gets forgotten someplace and they keep plugging you for more and more money.
I got stuck for $494 for my 2 kids. It was supposed to be over $900 a month (no that's not a typo...) and there's no way I could have survived at that. Luckily my x isn't completely stupid and heartless so she worked with her lawyer to reduce my payments as much as possible.
yeah, when i was younger my parents went through a divorce, but all my mother wanted was to get enough money to keep the house to keep my younger bro and sis in the same school district. that was a bit of money, but still less than the required amount. then i know some ppl that have the "take em for all they're worth" attitude, i hate that, its not for the kids at that point
Agree with all said but one point is overlooked. Part of that child support payment should be set aside for a college fund. I know a guy who won on that issue in court and because nothing was put aside his payments were reduced.

Hmmm... I know for fact that NONE of what I pay goes to the kids, she uses it to pay her f-ing rent.
its hard to put money in a savings account for college when you are barely paying bills. i payed for college on my own, well not yet, the banks paid and i am trying to pay it back at the moment lol. my parents couldnt afford to pay for school for me. they both maid fair money, but 3 kids, 2 mortgages, 2 sets of bills. maybe if they didnt split they could of.
As much as divorce sucks, it's still better than being married to her sorry a**!
You're not alone... my ex didn't work (one of the reasons we split) so I ended up paying a bunch of spousal & child support. And it doesn't always end when the kids turn 18 either. My ex never has money to help the kids with college, when their cars break down, etc., but always seems to have money to go on vacations, get her nails done, eat out, etc...
A couple of things I learned going through family court (at least in CA),
1. The goal of the court is to equalize the standard of living in both households so the kids don't sense a difference (we had joint custody).
2. The ability to pay does not matter. I could not afford what I was told to pay. I am still paying off the debt I incurred the 8 years I had to pay
support.
