be happy with your $650 per month.
a friend of mine had to pay $375 per week.
he told the judge he cold not afford that much, and the judge told him to get another job.
2 years ago he went before the same judge asking for a reduction because the oldest became of age and jointed the navy.
he was told no and that he now had to pay cost of living increase.
he is now expected to pay for his 17 year old his 21 year old and their 4 children. everyone is on welfare except for Chris.
he goes before a state supreme court judge next week to try to get the $500 per week garneshment removed from his check.
oh, and he makes $800 per week.
so after taxes, his ex wife gets $500 per week, and he gets $12 per week.
he has to deliver pizzas at night with a 74 chevy nova just for gas money to get to work and back, and if it were not for his girlfriend owning her house he would be living in the nova still.
in really didnt realize so many guys here were in simualr positions. i do realize that mine could be alot worse, but it was a phone call i got from her the other night that sent me over the edge. basicly telling me that the child support was spent on somethig else. i ve known people whos child support was twice what they made and others that only paid $10 a month, never could figure ou the pattern. now that i cooled off a little bit, i dont feel so bad. at least $400 of mine goes directly to the day care/school and the ex only gets $250 in her control. now that i am not seeing red right now i realize that i dont have it that bad, but its stilll the point of child support becoming mommy support that gets me
Ya George, its a heated subject. I read Tom's post to my wife and we got in a arguement! She said that I don't know you guys, bah, bah, bah. True but I said I don't care, its just plain wrong. Its takes two to make a child, two should be responsible. Yes, there are a lot of dead beat fathers but there are a lot of dead beat mothers. Its plain and simple, 50-50. To bad the judges don't see it that way.

This is what pisses me off about the whole situation. Not that I mind paying child support, but I want the money to go to my KIDS. And I know WA and many other states are "no fault" states, bla bla bla whatever but I'm not the one who was in the wrong, but I AM the one who had the paycheck. Why should I have to put myself out because she doesn't have consistent income? Why shouldn't she have to GET A JOB and earn her own money? That's my rub with the whole thing, but in this "wonderful" state the courts only care about the mom, dad doesn't mean jack diddly squat to anyone.

Well can you (When I say "you" I mean anyone paying child support) pay the money to the rent/morgage, electric/gas or something instead of giving it to HER?
I mean if you need to pay 500 a month...could you show paying 500 their rent?

I mail the check to the state and they deposit it on a pre paid visa card, she can do whatever she wants with it
same here. the state takes it rite out of your paycheck and gives it to her. and she does not have to vouch for where any of it goes. in my friends case, 99% of it goes for tanning salons, fingernail painting, cigarettes, and beer for her and her boyfriend.
Call the child protective services and turn the dead beats in!! Hire a detective to take a bunch of pictures of them getting drunk, coming out of bars, not picking the kids up from school, etc.
I'm going to have to stop reading this thread, lots of stress and high blood pressure. Its just that I've seen so many of my friends get the short end of the stick it makes me want to puke!
