Tow/Haul

I have a 06 Ford F-250 V-10 with factory Tow Haul in it. My question is should I use it when I have my 1800 lb. truck camper on and towing a small 1000 lb. trailer behind. ??

Being not familar with your vehicle other than its pay load abilities and not knowing the elevation degree that you may be pulling. My comments are that your truck should not have to be in any tow haul mode with such a light load.

I pull up to 26k at times and pending the degree angle to pull choices on how I want to pull it. With the load that you are pulling I would allow the temperatures of the engine and transmission deligate the tow haul mode.

I do the same for mine without having the new control modes or chips.

Try it both ways and use the way you like it. You can go either way without causing any problems.

Won't hurt anything to put it in Tow/Haul bit not really necessary with that small of a trailer IMO. Mine is an 05 with the 5.4. I've tried it both ways pulling my 8x10 trailer with ATVs, around 2000 lbs. Either way, the truck doesn't even notice that the trailer is back there. The only way you know it's there is by looking in the mirror.

I'd say just leave it. The truck knows what it needs.

Exactly my thoughts

Thanks

I feel that way too. You would'nt know its there. But, sometimes having in tow/Haul helps with not having to us the brakes alot.

Thanks for the replies
