Apparently sometime since I washed my truck last I drove over something freshly painted. A crosswalk, lines, hell who knows. I washed my truck today and I have white paint, apparently from some highway lining project all over the right side of my truck. Damn 35 inch tires apparently stick out a ways past the mud flaps. I even have it on the mirror on the right side. Mineral spirits doesn't do too great of a job. Any suggestions? Is this stuff latex? Would Goof Off work?
I have used goof off for that b4. It worked wonders. My older brother used it on his and it took the paint off (it was a gm though) . I would suggest checking it somewhere it cannot be seen b4 using it much.
Mine was like that with yellow paint too. I pressure washed it and left it. Now I see where some have looked up the state DOT and filed a complaint. some have gotten compensation some have not. I see where the DOT in Pa paid for a repair. But thats it.
You may want to check into that route. It got my attention and you bet the next time I will be digging for thier pockets too. May as well heck its your tax dollars that paid for the road paint.

Might be best to leave it on there.Probably better paint than the factory sprayed on. (My '06 is in for paint as I type.My second Ford truck in a row that needed repaint).
Between the paint jobs and non avaliability of manual X/Miss.in current Ford pickups I'm not happy with FMC.
I've taken off line marking paint with some rubbing compound and a rag. Wash the affected area and dry it. Put a little rubbing compound on a clean rag and GENTLY rub it in. You will feel it cutting into the line paint. DO NOT apply much pressure. You will cut through your clear coat and paint if you do.
Once the line paint is removed, go back over the area with your favorite wax.
You can use a stronger solvent than mineral spirits. I have used lacquer thinner to take off lacquer touch up paint and it doesn't harm the factory paint.
