i just ran the codes on my truck. i got a pass on the engine off test but on the engine running test i got a 53, 66, and a 32. ive replaced the tps, and the evp. im concerned that i did not put my tps back on correct though. i didnt adjust it or anything.
53 - tp circuit above max voltage
66 - maf sensor inpuit below min voltage/tot grounded or reads 290 degrees farenheit
32 - evp voltage below closed limit
where should i start looking at all of these? im going to go get me a voltmeter and try the tps. im thinking its the culprit. the others may just be old codes?
Well crap. It was just two codes because i didnt hit my brakes and turn my wheel...
If your tps needs adjusted will that show up as a code? Or is that too minor?
Yes you will get a code if the TPS is not within 0.6 to 1.0 VDC with the throttle closed. The code may not appear instantaneously, it may take a few cycles to show up. The standard TPS that comes on these trucks is not adjustable. Some have elongated the mounting holes but if you find the TPS out of range the problem is usually a bad TPS or someone has jacked with the idle stop screw somewhere along the way.
Whenever I suspect a TPS problem I use a DVM to measure the voltage.
