I have a new 2011 F-250 Lariat crew cab. I made an honest three month attempt to kick the smoking habit. Let's just say I'm not ready. So I still have the "new truck" smell but I smoke. I want to keep the windows open as much as possible so I don't trap any Winston stink in my rig. I believe that Ford sells rain guards. I've seen a few people recommend WeatherTech.
I would like to stay away from using any type of adhesive tape if possible. I'm looking for suggestions from 2011 crew cab drivers to aid in my search. I want to know what are the quality products and what to stay away from. I thank you in advance for your suggestions.
I have the vent shades from AVS on my truck. They are installed using adhesive, but it sticks to the weatherstrip, not the paint. Easy to install and the look great.

Smokers won't notice the smell but non-smokers will. Doesn't matter if all the windows are down 100% of the time.
I use the AVS too and they are nice but do adhere to the weatherstrip as was mentioned by mach8274. Had them on my last truck and now the new one. Wouldn't be without them in a place that rains as much as it does here.
Just installed Stampede's on mine....less money than Weathertech's....i'll post back in a couple days to see how I like them....
I didn't care for how tight they were in the channel....hopefully this changes over the next couple days and the window will go all the way up and not be pinched prior to getting all the way up....The fronts were a pain to get in....the back windows were easy.

Are these in-channel? I have the in-channel ones now on my current truck and I won't buy in-channel again. Top 1/4" of my glass on each window is all scratched to hell.

No, the AVS version are not in channel and never touch the glass. The AVS version uses adhesive to attach to the weatherstrip. You just need to make sure when you apply them that you do it right the first time as I would not want to try and remove them. I think I bought mine at an O'Reilly's auto for ~ $50.

When I bought mine a few years ago I opted for the in-channel version, which was an option at the time. Maybe they don't offer the in-channel anymore. ~$50 is what I got mine for also.

I just put some AVS in-channel on mine. I love them and the clean look they give. I haven't checked the top of the glass though to see if it is scratched. I have had the other type that stick to the outside of the weatherstrip on my previous trucks, and they worked fine, just a pain to get all that tape residue off.
I use weather tech in channel. They are the best in my opinion and I have tried many.
I smoke too and when I am vigilant with keeping the window open and air flowing thru the vents it keeps the odor to a minimum.
1. Driver window cracked an inch
2. Air conditioning on medium fan, no recirculate, all other windows closed.
3. When done, lid on the ash tray, power slide window open 2 inches, driver window closed.
This is the best method for keeping the air moving through the cab that I have found. In fact, the smell is the opposite of what most people think. A smoker can smell it instantly, non smoker does not unless you get them to try and see if they can smell anything.
I just added the Weather Tech in channel vents. I like them, very easy to install, 5 mins for all 4. They were a little tight initially but once they sit in the sun with the windows up they settle in and conform nicely.
When installing the AVS product (Part # 94953/Crewcab)......Can anyone tell me do you need to loosen the outside mirror to get the front tab of the Ventshade under it? The instructions on several websites contradict the installation process.

Yes, there are two bolts behind the tweeter, for the mirror, that you need to loosen on each side to fit the AVS product in there and have it fit correctly.
