so my parents said theyd buy me a lift kit finelly ....and rough countrys 4 and 6 inch lifts are about the same price...my truck is a 1991 f150 extended cab 2wd. i have 31 inch terra grapplers right now and i wont be able to get new tires for along time. which lift would be better for me i want a 6 but i think it would look really dumb with the tires. i Just dont no if 4inch would be high enough?
"So my parents said theyd buy me a lift kit finelly" -You sound a little spoiled there, I'd say your parents are being kind enough to generously buy you a gift.
Na man iv been asking for a lift for 3 years...and im paying half of it...theres nothing special about my truck ..i buy everything that goes on my truck
4 inch would look better with those tires but when i did my 4 inch i ended up (as many maybe even most) feeling it wasn't tall enough.
go big enough that you'll be happy i vote 6 inch and be sure you make sure the kit is for the 2wd truck then you can look into getting some tires for a deal on craigslist maybe trade or sell your current wheels or something after you save some money
Personally, I wouldn't lift a 2wd truck. But if you have to do it, go 4 inches and keep 31 inch tires. If you go too crazy with it, you'll have a truck that looks pretty cool, but it'll be borderline useless and probably suck to drive.

lift a 2wd, less moving parts means less repiars for you, If its not leaving pavement I dont see why you shouldn't. Heck, all people really do is lift their trucks for looks not 'offroading'
Go the 6 inch btw, the 4 inch will leave you depressed and the 31's shouldn't look too bad, just bug your rents for a set of 33's or 35's lol at least you'll have the lift.
-you will NOT need extended front brake lines, but WILL need the rear extended hose
alot of the old preunner/dune hopping trucks were/are 2wd. As said before, less moving parts. You won't be able to go rock crawling or mud running but I think you'll be alright as long as you rememeber its 2wd.
At full droop with a 6" lift you're rear brake line is gonna be stretched (just went and looked at my truck), so yeah I'd snag the rear line as Nick said above too.
thank you guys you were a big help im probably going 6 inch..........and i mostly want the lift for looks but sometimes i go play around in the mud.....
As long as you don't go through mud/deep snow slowly you should be fine. Once your momentum stops you will start to get stuck, you'd be a bit better putting a mud terrain on in winter. At least on the back. You're gonna get the big truck mentality (don't we all) and get stuck without tread.
