I think Marco's pizza is keeping them alive here. They usually share a building or lot and you can get pizza and a movie combos. With Redbox and all the streaming apps there isn't much need for a video rental store.
They gave Carolyn and I free rentals-- and 1/2 off for the next 6 months-- They must have realized we don't rent much from them anymore-- not since Calista is "too Grown Dad" for anything from the free movie section.
I was excited that we can actually use the home theater for once (instead of going to the lake) this weekend because the fair was in town, so we stuck around so the boys could get their carnival\rodeo\demo derby fill for the year. We watched Super Troopers 2 Friday night which was alright. They recycled a lot of jokes from the old movie which kinda got old, but I was glad overall that we finally got a chance to watch it (helped that I had a strong Coke Zero and Jack, otherwise it probably wouldn't have been as funny )
Saturday night we watched "The Shape of Water", another one I had been wanting to see for a while. It was quite the well-written movie and we enjoyed it quite a bit. It wasn't just your typical Action\Drama\Comedy\Horror type of movie, it was a great blend of all types and was really original. Hard to find movies that grab your attention and keep you interested through the whole film.
Well all day trip to Wichita and all day trip to Manhattan had no tv, movies in my weekend. :-( But I saw some animated show by the guys who made futurama and the simpsons - It was just a commercial but it looked good!
I remember when "My Name is Earl" ended their last season with one of the biggest cliffhangers ever, then the show was cancelled. I was not happy
I started watching more shows on my "MotorTrend on Demand" subscription that I pay $5 a month for. I originally subscribed years ago because Roadkill is my most favorite show of all time, but now I'm finding all sorts of other automotive-related shows and content to binge on. It's great!
I am going to have to find a new movie to watch tonight during plasma. I haven't looked through the Netflix list for about a month now, hopefully there is some good stuff out there.
