Here is an update on my pickup that has been experiencing erractic shifting, stumbling, and slaming hard into reverse. The dealer I purchased the truck from was never able to get anything solved on this and basically told me to live with it the way the truck was which was clearly not. I then was advised by Ford to quit crying wolf and to take the truck 120 miles away to another dealership. I dropped the truck off on September 8 and by September 9 this dealership had verified the concern and was ordering parts to be installed on Monday. First piece to be put in was a new transmission valve body and software update since the solonoids had already been done. On 9/14 I was to pick up the truck after lunch as they thought it was fixed so I get 10 mins from the dealership and on their final test drive the truck starts acting up again. Next morning Ford advises to put in a new torque convertor to see if that fixes it. I am scheduled to pick the truck up on 9/20 nearly two weeks after dropping it off so we will see if it is corrected then. It is a 2011 Ford F-350 CC SB with 3.31 gears and a build date in early January. I have owned the truck for 6 months and have 16,000 miles on it.
Good luck with your truck, sounds at least like the new dealer is making some progress.
One question about the "crying wolf" statement..... Did Ford suggest you go to the remote dealer? did they accuse you of "crying wolf"...just trying to understand how those two go together....
At any rate, hope it works out for you...to your satisfaction..
Ya Ford suggested that I take it there. They accused me of crying wolf because even though the service manager and tech at the first dealership was riding with me and experienced the issues with me they never reported to Ford that they witnessed it and pursued what to do kept telling me well without a code Ford will not and we can't do anything. So I was accused by the Ford representative of making this up and was suggested to take it to another dealership or to shut up.
